Greek Travel

After my first 3 trips to Greece (96-98) I went on line and found a great Greek Travel web site.  I explored it cautiously in my seemingly selfish and territorial state of mind regarding Greece thinking I was the only who “got it”, but was pleasantly surprised by the tone and information on it.  Matt Barrett nails it in a personal way unlike the other web sites which are more commercialized. I’ve found his experiences to be the same as mine in many places through-out Greece. I found George the Taxi driver in this web site and booked it for a fabulous 3 day trip up to Meteora which I strongly recommend!

I’ve been asked numerous times for advice and tips on traveling to Greece so after I passionately blast out a novel of details, options and links based on their budget and time table, including little inside tips good for the first time tourist…. I always end up with the same conclusion– just go to this web site! (www.greektravel.com)

The reason I don’t create my own Greek Travel web site is because for the most part I would have written the exact same thing Matt Barrett covers in nearly 5000 pages and links exclusively about Greece. It is by far the absolute BEST source of information for traveling to Greece on any budget. Constantly updated, it covers every detail from cruises, private sailing excursions, hotels, beaches, islands, transportation, food, entertainment, food, tours, even what to pack and best time of year to go…bottom line, you want it – he’s listed it.  I’ve never had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Barrett, but we apparently share the passion for Greece.

For a unique tour without the crowds go to (www.TheOdysseyTour.com)

Check out the magazine called: Odyssey (www.odyssey.gr) This is good coverage because there is a lot about Greece that gets overlooked.
